The Children represents the most vulnerable groups in the society. This is so because the circumstances of age place them in a disadvantaged position, and the need to protect them from abuses ranging from child labour, child marriage, child trafficking, tribal marks amongst others. It was the need to safeguard the rights of a child that led to the establishment of the “CHILD’S RIGHT GROUP” The Group is expected to: • Examine abuses suffered by children and the protection offered them by existing laws; • Study existing blueprint on Child’s Rights with a view to making necessary review and recommendation to the appropriate authorities; • Identify the problems impeding the enjoyment of Child’s Rights; • Come up with a draft proposal on the on the identified problems and proffer practical steps towards solving the identified problems; • Design a programme in relation to this mandate. The coverage area is Ikare, Owo and Ido Ani in Ondo State.
